Up date on the birds

Not even a week later and the birds have their eyes open and feathers are growing.. while my son was taking this picture the Mama was chirping loudly at him, so he got the shot and moved away..ha!

We haven't a clue what kind of birds they are.

Hopping around

While I was watering the garden this little guy was just happily hopping around. I thought it was cute and so did my son he picked it up for a quick picture and let it go on about its business. I love the fruit that I receive from my vegetable garden but it can be hard work. Pulling weeds everyday, making sure the plants are doing well. I am already starting to see some grape and roma tomatoes. This year I am trying to plant "beets", they are really good when juiced. Although it smells like "dirt" it is sweet in taste. I use my Jack Lalanne juicer and I put beets, apple, grapefruit and carrots. Sometimes I will add an orange. MMMMmmmmm good! I love it!

Front Porch SURPRISE

This morning Ross showed me a picture that he had taken of this beautiful nest. We believe the birds are humming birds, because the nest is approximately 2-2.5 inches wide. They are so precious. It thrills me because just a month or so ago I looked and there weren't any nests. I hope they will stay awhile and we can get picture's of them as they grow up.

What a beautiful day

I love to work in the vegetable and flower garden. Spring and Fall are my favorite times to work in the yard. I am so blessed to see the beautiful blooms for each season and I thank God for those visual pleasures.
I have been aching to get some bushes chopped down that have over grown in the front of our house, well "I did it"! I just couldn't take it anymore...Ever felt that way? It felt great to get it chopped down. I wonder if Randy will notice when he gets home today. :)
Tomorrow, I will go after another one....until, all of the big, bushy, out of place bushes are GONE. My plan is to replace them with BEAUTIFUL flowering shrubs that scream..."LOOK AT ME"! See how beautiful I am.. Marvel at my beauty from the LORD! I will be sure to post those picture's when I make the transformation! I could live outside during this time. I wish the weather would just stay cool all year around. So much for wishful thinking.

I did it!

It is 11:26 p.m. I can't believe that I actually got through creating this blog. Now to post picture's. First things first, I'll get my son to assist me in posting picture's tomorrow. Today was great, after strawberry picking yesterday I managed to make some strawberry freezer jam today! It is good.
I am so grateful to God for blessing me with great friend's who help me with planning meal's. We are currently, a family who loves eating "lentils". What a cheap, nutrious meal to have and it fits perfect in our budget. For those of you who don't know what they are like I didn't here is the scoop. I purchased a regular bag of Lentils, I sauteed' cubed ham, onion, celery and fresh spinach. Meanwhile the Lentils were cooking in a pot of water where I added chicken bouilion cubes to the water before adding lentils and rice. Even my son who doesn't like any type of "beans" ate lentils.
